Genovation Cars to Unveil Design of G2 Electric Car at SAE World Congress

Genovation Cars Inc., a Maryland designer and builder of environmentally friendly automobiles, announced that it will unveil the design of its G2 plug-in electric car at the SAE 2011 World Congress, April 12-14 at the Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan.

Genovation Cars will partner with Tata Technologies as an exhibitor.  Tata serves as the prime contractor on the design and development of the G2.  Genovation will be exhibiting two quarter-scale models of the G2 and a video animation of the auto at the event.

Genovation Wraps Up Phase 1 of Development of the G2

Genovation Inc., a Maryland designer and custom builder of environmentally friendly automobiles, announced the completion of Phase I of development of its G2 electric car model.

Phase I, managed and delivered by Tata Technologies, which serves as the prime contractor on the full vehicle project, included the completion of design details critical to a comprehensive business strategy, including cost analyses, performance simulations, crash simulations, computational fluid dynamics analyses and two quarter scale models.

Subcontractors on the G2 project include Metalsa, which recently acquired Dana Holding Corporation's structural product business, for the structural design and manufacturing; and Dana Thermal Products for the car's thermal operations (engine cooling, battery management and cabin climate control).

Genovation Selects Astek Corporation to Design Vehicle Electronic Systems

Genovation Cars Inc., a Maryland designer and builder of environmentally friendly automobiles, announced that it has selected and contracted with Astek Corporation to design vehicle management systems for Genovation's line of electric automobiles.

In an electric powered vehicle it is not obvious when the vehicle is powered and able to move. The electronic management system is a key component in communicating safety and security to the driver, and coordinating all operational functions of the automobile.

Genovation Cars Begins Production of G-Vette Electric Sports Car Model

Genovation Cars Inc. (www.genovationcars.com), a Maryland designer and builder of environmentally friendly automobiles, announced it has begun building a prototype of its newest electric automobile, the G-Vette.  The prototype will be built on the all-aluminum light-weight frame of a legendary sports car.  The frame was donated by a tier one auto industry parts supplier.
The G-Vette will feature a special ultra light weight carbon fiber body constructed using  a soy based resin.  It will incorporate Genovation’s research and development experience that went into its G1 model --- an electric conversion of a Ford Focus --- which included the installation of an electric motor, battery string, battery management system, safety system, HVAC, controller, and instrumentation.

Genovation Selects American Dynamics Flight Systems to Perform Computational Fluid Dynamics For G2

Genovation Cars Inc., a Maryland designer and builder of environmentally friendly automobiles, announced that it recently selected and contracted with American Dynamics Flight Systems (ADFS) of Jessup, Md. to perform the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis of Genovation's G2 electric car.

Through the CFD process, ADFS will use Genovation's engineering files to perform computer-simulated wind tunnel tests, allowing for the refinement and improvement of air flow efficiencies on the G2.  The CFD tests will also help increase the high-speed stability of the automobile. 

In addition, Genovation also recently selected Tata Technologies to design and prototype the G2 model.  The G2 model will incorporate Genovation's research and development that went into its G1 model, an electric conversion of a Ford Focus.  The conversion included the installation of an electric motor, battery string, battery management system, safety system, HVAC, controller and instrumentation.
