While solar cells require a substantial amount of space to produce meaningful power there is an opportunity to use a small panel to power a ventilation system when the vehicle is parked in the sun. A tremendous amount of air conditioning is used to cool a car from well over 100oF after being parked in the hot sun. That energy can be reduced by power venting the car while parked using solar energy.
Genovation also has a partnership with a company that will build the vehicle owner a car port with solar panels. The car port will generate electricity during the day that is pumped into the grid to reduce utility bills. At night, charging the car from the utility grid will essentially be free; the grid has been used as temporary storage.
Optional large stationary batteries will be available for customers who are concerned about power outages or Homeland Security.
