Just connecting the power to the motor via a controller and a throttle pedal will make a car move. However, there is a need for multiple safety interlocks to avoid dangerous situations such as trying to drive off when the car is plugged in for charging. Genovation has multiple custom designed safety modules installed in the car thus having multiple ways to break the current feed to the motor ensures that no single failure will put the cars occupants in danger. For example, if the throttle and brake pedals are pressed at the same time, drive current will be removed from the traction motor.
